Symantec's pcAnywhere includes several other new features and administrator tools designed to increase security, optimize performance, and make the software easier to use and customize. A new Host Assessment tool lets users check the configuration of their host connection items to ensure better use of security features and help identify areas where they might be at risk. For added security, the host icon in the system tray now displays information about who is connected to the host.

A customizable container view now allows users to turn watermarks on or off, so help desk operators and others who manage a large number of connection items can have an unobstructed view of their connection lists. The new Rebootless Host feature in the pcAnywhere packager lets administrators create host-only packages that do not require end users to restart their computers once the installation is complete!!
