Requirements
To complete many of the included hands-on
exercises, you must have:
- Two networked computers OR be connected to a larger network. Both computers must be capable of running Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0. One computer must be capable of dual booting Microsoft Windows NT Server and Microsoft Windows 95. Each computer must have this minimum configuration:
- 486/33 or
higher Intel-based processor - Pentium, Alpha, or MIPS processor -
16 MB of RAM (32 MB of RAM is the minimum for installing SMS and
Microsoft SQL ServerTM on the same
computer) - A minimum of 500 MB of available hard disk space
formatted as NTFS - SVGA display adapter and 256-color monitor -
Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device - Network adapter
card and related cables - One 3.5-inch high-density disk drive -
CD-ROM drive - Sound card with headphones or speakers on one
computer (optional) All hardware should be on the Microsoft
