What it is:
It's an 80 conductor cable with 40 pin
connectors that uses the extra ground wires to dampen
the noise bleed through between lines. This is the only
way to overcome the limiting factors due to noise and
crosstalk of the traditional IDE cable. This cable will
also enhance Ultra ATA/33 drives up to 95% faster by
reducing noise, thus having the drives running at peak performance.
Who Likes It:
Ultra ATA/66/100/133 is endorsed by all
leading hard drive manufacturers, including Western
Digital, Fujitsu, IBM, Maxtor, Quantum, Seagate, Toshiba
and others. Please check with your hard drive
manufacturer to find out if your hard drive is Ultra
ATA/33/66/100 or 133.
Compatibly:
Ultra ATA/66/100/133 is 100 percent backwards
compatible with both Ultra ATA/33 and DMA, and with
existing EIDE/IDE hard drives, CD-ROM drives and host
systems.

Requirements
Three connectors for up to two
devices
It has 80 wires but 39 pins (one
blocked), which makes it back compatible with
the DMA33 IDE cables
Yes, that means this cable will
work with an old ATA33 hard drive/motherboard/CD
ROM.
Check the IDE connector on your motherboards. Ensure
that it has 39 pins instead of 40.
If it has 40. This cable may or may not work with
your motherboard. The connectors are color-coded
for ATA66 and Higher.
The blue connector is for the motherboard. The
middle, grey one must be connected to the master
hard drive.
The black, end one is for a slave drive if there is
one.
